On February 6, 2025, the Ford Automotive Division of RMA (Cambodia) PLC officially launched the 2025 model lineup, including the Ford Ranger pickup, Ford Everest SUV, and Ford Territory, under the patronage of H.E. Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy; Mr. Ngn Sann, CEO of RMA Cambodia; Ms. Bridgette Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia; and Mrs. Niramon Sirikiatikul, Asia-Pacific Sales Director of Ford Motor Company, together with the management and staff of RMA (Cambodia), honored guests, Ford customers, and members of the media—totalling more than 3,000 attendees—at The Premier Center Sen Sok.

The Ford assembly plant began operations in 2022 on a total area of over 5 hectares in Krakor District, Pursat Province, with an initial investment of USD 21 million for CKD assembly. Recently, the company increased its investment to USD 26.8 million and upgraded the production line to IKD-1 level, expanding the total area to 12 hectares, creating more than 500 skilled jobs, and achieving a production capacity of approximately 9,000 vehicles per year.

Opening the ceremony, Mr. Ngn Sann, CEO of RMA (Cambodia), said:

“I am very pleased to officially launch the 2025 series of the Ford Ranger pickup, Ford Everest SUV, and Ford Territory at The Premier Center Sen Sok. These vehicles are manufactured in Cambodia by Cambodians, in accordance with world-class standards.”

He added:

“We are extremely proud to have contributed to creating a new chapter in our nation’s history. Among countries around the world, Cambodia now has the capability to manufacture vehicles locally, and we are the first company to receive international recognition from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) for vehicle identification numbers produced in Cambodia (Made-in-Cambodia). This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the Royal Government of Cambodia. We sincerely thank the Royal Government for encouraging investment and supporting our company in bringing world-class automotive manufacturing to Cambodia.”

Mrs. Niramon Sirikiatikul, Asia-Pacific Sales Director of Ford Motor Company, said:

Ms. Bridgette Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, said:

H.E. Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, delivered the opening remarks:

“A person who lives to 100 years old is considered healthy and fortunate, and such age is rare. But Ford Motor Company is now 122 years old. In 1903, on Mack Avenue in Detroit, Michigan, Henry Ford gave America and the world the automobile—transforming family economies and society. He introduced affordable, good-quality, fuel-efficient, and reliable vehicles. What began as a small step became the model for the global automotive industry. Since the first Ford car in 1896, from the famous Model T to today’s globally popular Ford Territory, Cambodia is fortunate to host the production of these vehicles. Congratulations.”

He added:

“At this historic launch tonight, Ford has received authorization from the Society of Automotive Engineers to issue vehicle identification numbers that certify these vehicles are made in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The cooperation between the Royal Government and RMA has created nearly 500 direct jobs for Cambodian youth, generated many more jobs in supporting services nationwide, provided more affordable vehicles compared to imports, contributed taxes for national development—such as schools, roads, and healthcare—and helped train Cambodian youth with clear professional skills. On behalf of the Prime Minister, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, I once again extend my congratulations and sincere thanks to Ford, RMA, and especially to Ford customers for your continued support.”

The Ford Ranger and Ford Everest are now manufactured in Cambodia by Cambodians to world-class standards. Every stage of production is strictly inspected in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, which are internationally recognized.

Ford’s production system emphasizes quality, advanced technology, and uniform global standards, regardless of where the vehicles are produced. The presence of the Ford assembly plant has attracted further automotive and related industrial investments to Cambodia, created higher-paying jobs, reduced labor migration, and contributed to sustainable economic development.
