The Ford Assembly Plant in Cambodia was officially inaugurated in 2022, situated on a site spanning over five hectares in Krakor District, Pursat Province, with an initial investment of USD 21 million dedicated to Completely-Knocked-Down (CKD) vehicle assembly operations. Building on this foundation, the company has made additional investments, bringing the total to USD 26.8 million, while further expanding the facility to 12 hectares and upgrading its production capability to the IKD-1 level, a recognized production stage that qualifies vehicles as locally manufactured and eligible to be designated as “Made in Cambodia.”

Notably, it has been assigned a World Manufacturer Identifier (WMI) in accordance with the standards of the Society of Automotive Engineers, enabling the plant to generate and apply unique Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) to vehicles assembled locally. This certification process is a critical requirement for vehicles to be officially recognized as “Made in Cambodia,” affirming that they meet internationally accepted manufacturing and traceability standards. Furthermore, the facility is the first automotive assembly plant in Cambodia to obtain the prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications from Bureau Veritas.
